  • Add arm movements and group choreography
  • Dance together in sync with your team

Why It’s Amazing:

Ceili dancing isn’t just about steps—it’s about connection! You’ll build teamwork, cooperation, and friendships that last beyond the dance floor.

Performances & Competitions

  • Start in small groups of four dancers
  • Progress to larger teams of eight or even sixteen

Competitive Teams

Want to take it further? Dancers may have the opportunity to be a part of competitive teams! Selection is based on:

  • Strong basics
  • Meeting age requirements
  • Height compatibility with dancers of similar age and ability

Feis Fun: Competitions

A feis [Fesh] means “festival” or “gathering”. In Irish dance, a feis is your chance to step into the spotlight, show off your hard work, and join a vibrant community of dancers.

Why It’s a Big Deal

Competitions aren’t just about medals—they’re about motivation, confidence, and unforgettable memories. Kids love having exciting goals to chase, and parents love seeing their dancers beam with pride.

Where the Magic Happens

Feiseanna are happening all across the U.S. and Canada! Check out the calendar posted on our Class & Events Schedule Page for competitions in the Southern Region; or click here for a great website full of feis resources and a full calendar.

How We Get You Ready

As competition approaches, it is important to continue regular classes to boost confidence and polish performance. It is recommended that dancers who wish to compete attend at least two classes per week.

Think of a feis as more than just a competition—it’s a celebration of culture, community, and the joy of dance. Your child’s first feis is the start of something magical!
